The Vicar of Dibley - The stage play

Synopsis

From the Director Zeljko Vanis

“The stage adaptation of The Vicar Of Dibley takes its source primarily from the first two series of the show aired between 1994 and 1998. It is set in the fictional village of Dibley in Oxfordshire, which is a county in the southern region of England. True to the TV version, it is a play filled with quirky characters with individual hang-ups, getting into predicaments, which the Vicar is obliged to resolve. The story begins with the death of Dibley’s ancient Vicar and the eagerly anticipated arrival of the new Vicar. The only problem for the traditionally minded folk of Dibley, is that the new Vicar is a modern thinking woman. What follows is a hilarious set of events depicted over a period of several months including Easter. Throw in two love struck imbeciles, an overbearing father, a sexually deprived council member, an overly pedantic minute taker and you have a recipe for a raucous play and an evening of uncontrollable laughter.”
